StringTime is a beginner violin, viola, cello, and guitar summer camp for kids ages 7-12. No prior experience is required to attend and instruments are provided. Teachers have played at The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. Choose from three locations: Burke, VA (Church of the Good Shepherd), Alexandria, VA (Immanuel Lutheran Church), and McLean, VA (Trinity United Methodist Church). Register by April 1 to save $100! Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s Camp has put kids in charge–allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, coding & gaming, sports & recreation, maker crafts, water play, baking, and more. As children are empowered to make their own choices at camp, they discover new reserves of confidence, resiliency, and creativity–learning to course correct and trust themselves as they go. Families can buy any number of days, to use at any time–no weekly reservations required. Or, buy a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. Either way, any unused Passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks & all hours (8am–6pm) included.

Campers take the stage in this immersive theatre camp! Each day, students will participate in solo acting, group acting, scene perparation, music theory, and rehearsal. Students will have time each day for private instruction. Camp will conclude with a full performance on the final day. Campers will also enjoy a pizza party on Friday!

Summer 2025 Registration for Beginner Camps is Open! We run three age groups simultaneously: Ages 6 to 8, 8 to 12 and 12 and Up. Each group gets it's own gym section and dedicated coach. 9am to 4pm with half day discounts or before and aftercare available upon request. Car service available to and from camp. Each week begins with basics, building an equipment package that stays with campers for the week and we finish with a friendly tournament of Fridays. Programs include games, an overall sports education, social skills and of course lots of fencing: technique, strategy, refereeing and etiquette. Please pack a lunch. Lunch is 12Noon to 1pm and we run a little chess club for interested kids.
