Oakland School and Camp
Oakland School is a private day school near Charlottesville, Virginia, where children with and without learning differences discover how they learn best. For more than 60 years, Oakland has provided individualized instruction, small classes, and a nurturing environment that helps students build confidence, strengthen core skills, and rediscover a love of learning.
Our core academics focus on reading, writing, math, and study skills, taught through multisensory, evidence-based methods that meet each student where they are. Every child receives the attention and support they need to make meaningful progress and develop the tools for lifelong success.
Oakland also offers a specialized equine program, where students and summer campers can learn horseback riding and horsemanship. This hands-on experience helps children build balance, responsibility, and confidence while enjoying our beautiful outdoor setting.
In addition to the school year program, Oakland’s Summer Camp offers an immersive, fun, and structured environment where campers enjoy outdoor adventures, develop academic skills, and build confidence through personalized learning and classic camp activities.
