StringTime is a beginner violin, viola, cello, and guitar summer camp for kids ages 7-12. No prior experience is required to attend and instruments are provided. Teachers have played at The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. Choose from three locations: Burke, VA (Church of the Good Shepherd), Alexandria, VA (Immanuel Lutheran Church), and McLean, VA (Trinity United Methodist Church). Register by April 1 to save $100! In this live online course, we improve our print and cursive handwriting through reading and writing about people and events from American history as well as drawing them. Why drawing? Drawing develops some of the same muscle groups used for handwriting. It's also lots of fun! Recommended for ages 11-18. An ADULT SECTION is also available (meeting time is different. It will start at 9:30 AM PST and end at 10:30 AM PST). |

The purpose of this live ONLINE course is to spark pre-teen/early teenage students' interest in reading classic books and to teach them to engage in Socratic discussion about themes, characters, plot, etc. We will also focus on history related to the stories. Our summer 2025 readings are selections from Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey. The cost is $150 for 22.5 hours of instruction June 16-Aug. 13, 2025. |

The summer program at Sutradhar brings an immersive four week experience to kids ages 4 to 18 years old. Started by renowned educator Nilimma Devi who said “art must nourish body and soul,” the camp includes classical Indian theater- storytelling, Kuchipudi dance, acting, martial arts, yoga, mask and prop-making, poetry, and script writing.

Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s Camp has put kids in charge–allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, coding & gaming, sports & recreation, maker crafts, water play, baking, and more. As children are empowered to make their own choices at camp, they discover new reserves of confidence, resiliency, and creativity–learning to course correct and trust themselves as they go. Families can buy any number of days, to use at any time–no weekly reservations required. Or, buy a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. Either way, any unused Passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks & all hours (8am–6pm) included. |

Join us for amazing art adventures from June 16th through August 22nd, 2025!
When school is out for the summer, art is in at CREATE! Each week of summer camp will bring new art adventures. Our experienced teaching artists inspire creativity by teaching various art-making techniques and by exploring artists’ styles to help our campers draw inspiration for their artwork. The week-long sessions allow for both multi-day and single-day projects, allowing our campers to work with various materials, including watercolor and tempera paints, clay, plaster, oil pastels, and more. At the end of the week, each child will go home with a portfolio filled with original artwork! Project types include pottery, sculpture, drawing, painting, cartooning, collage, mixed media, and more! |
