The Nora School

Families look to The Nora School both for its progressive educational model and for a fresh start from an interrupted journey in more traditional school settings. Students who come to Nora may have had their sense of self impacted in some way. Perhaps they have experienced an activist awakening, or perhaps their motivation was impacted by learning or mental health diagnoses, or perhaps they are seeking a kinder community to recover from a crisis or explore their identity. Our community is a college preparatory and emotionally-forgiving place to rebuild confidence, to be seen and heard, and to discover a path forward.

Teachers at Nora define and build that culture. They teach more than their subject matter. They are here to build a community that cares for each other, learns together, and explores the world inside and outside the classroom. This community is meant to respect each person as they are for who they are.
