Living Classrooms' Maritime Education Department serves students from around the region with environmental science and local history programs that promote scientific literacy, environmental stewardship, and learning by doing.
Registration is now OPEN for Living Classrooms' multi-day science, sailing, and adventure programs aboard our ships Sigsbee and Mildred Belle. Programs are for youth aged 11-15.
SIGSBEE is offering 3-day overnight trips from Baltimore, MD and will visit ports like Rock Hall and Annapolis. By day, youth will learn to set the sails, steer the boat, go trawl fishing, and explore the maritime history of the Chesapeake Bay. At night, groups will camp ashore and sleep in tents under the stars.
MILDRED BELLE is offering 3-day overnight leaving from Washington, DC and visiting Piscataway Park on the Potomac River. During the day, youth will learn about the rich maritime history of the Potomac, help stand watch, learn to steer the boat, and go trawl fishing. At night, groups will camp ashore and sleep in tents under the stars.
We offer multi-day science, sailing, and adventure programs for youth age 11-15 from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.
