Nestled in the nation’s capital in the richest museum complex in the world is the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center, a model early childhood program that places children at the center of every experience. The vast collections are the foundation for the culturally diverse curriculum, which offers a rare opportunity for learning. The mission of the SEEC is two-fold: to provide a high-quality educational program for young children, and to advance educational opportunities for all children by sharing SEEC’s expertise on a national level, thereby furthering the education mandate of the Smithsonian Institution. Through our Office of Engagement we offer a wide range of public programs for children 0- 8 as well as professional development opportunities for educators.
Our workshops combine the wonders of the Smithsonian collection, best practices of early childhood, and personal connections to foster a love of learning in children 0- 8 and their families.
