SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young is a national non-profit organization that empowers, educates, and supports young people who stutter and the world that surrounds them. Through summer camp, speech therapy, and creative expression, SAY builds a community of acceptance where young people who stutter gain confidence and communication skills.

Since 2001, SAY has been working with children and teens who stutter (and their families), using the arts to unlock expression, confidence, and personal growth.

We foster an environment of creativity, empathy, and inspiration that gives room for the expansion of possibility. Here, you’ll find a community that makes each participant stronger and more capable than they ever thought they could be.

SAY: DC is dedicated to providing a safe, inspiring space for young people who stutter to be deeply heard and supported. They come with something to SAY and we give our participants the time, tools, space, and encouragement to become master storytellers.

Activities may include acting, bookmaking, dance, drawing, drumming, field trips, painting, photography, playwriting, poetry, printmaking, sculpture, songwriting, singing, and more. We provide our award-winning programming completely free of charge.
