This summer, learn ancient games from around the world, decode historical messages and hidden clues, and build teamwork and critical thinking skills.

The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. and Archaeology in the Community invite Maryland students ages 8-14 to participate in Archaeology in the Summer, a FREE of charge two-part educational series that brings history, science, technology, and discovery to life.

June 23: What Does an Archaeologist Do?

  • Explore laser scanning and 3D modeling technology
  • Analyze artifacts like real archaeologists

June 30: Recreating the Past with Archaeology

  • Play Cuju, ancient Chinese soccer
  • Play a 5,000-year old board game, the Royal Game of Ur
  • Decode historical messages and hidden clues
