Minimum Skills:
* Can decode 3-letter words
* Can write 3-letter words and use creative spelling to sound out longer, more complex words
* Can add and subtract to 10
Beyond Basics is great for kids who are getting good at reading simple English and understand the concepts of addition and subtraction. We use game-based, project-based and creative activities to explore many domains, often all at the same time. Undirected play time allows them to build social skills and to find things to explore that an adult may not have thought to show them. Directed activities give them a focus based on their needs and interests to increase skills and knowledge. We create a customized curriculum for each group of students to fill gaps, create opportunities for challenge and align with their interests while also exposing them to new things. Our approach is inclusive, positive and peaceful to model the kinds of social interactions we want to see. We will explore English Mechanics, Social Studies, Art, Science, Math, Creative Writing and more
Our new Learning Center (see map) is a 5-minute walk from a beautiful playground that we use frequently. We have many windows that open for fresh air exchange while we are inside and medical-grade air purifiers for when they need to be closed. Many of our rooms have sinks in them for easy access to frequent hand-washing.
A variety of payment plans are available from all-at-once to 1/2 at a time, to custom plans upon request.
