The Akhmedova Ballet Academy is thrilled to bring their ballet premiere of Peter and the Wolf, especially choreographed and staged for kids.
In this 35-minute show, children will experience the exciting and whimsical story of brave Peter and animal friends he makes while out in the meadow.
Each character, represented by a melody played by a different musical instrument, adds to the tale of how Peter (strings) saves his new friends: the fortunate cat (clarinet), the fearless little bird (flute), and the ill-fated duck (oboe) from the hungry wolf (horns) and then saves the wolf from the hunters (woodwinds). The story of Peter and the Wolf teaches an important lesson - to have courage while facing a challenge.
With brilliant chorography by ABA master teacher Jessica Novakovich, and dancing by ABA students, ages 8-20, local kids of all ages and parents will surely enjoy this classic symphonic folk tale written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936 and reimagined for kids and families.
Immediately following the 35-minute performance, all attendees will enjoy a special Q/A session with the dancers and choreographer, photos sessions with several dancers throughout the lobby, and kids will receive a gift while supplies last.
