This hands-on color workshop, inspired by the Museum’s summer installation, THE PLAYGROUND, and the exhibition Visible Vault: Open Collections Storage introduces how color palettes and theory shape human experience within the built environment.
Participants will build a foundational understanding of the color wheel and key color theory concepts, explore how color influences emotion, mood, and meaning in designed spaces, and create their own intentional color palette. Following the workshop, participants will tour Visible Vault to see real-world applications of color theory in architecture and design. Highlights include historic paint swatches for interior design, guidebooks on wallpaper patterns and domestic color schemes, and objects that demonstrate the cultural significance of color.
This workshop is open to all skill levels, ages 13+. All materials are included.
