Celebrate with the General
Meet General Washington for hoecake demonstrations with Half Crown Bakehouse on the 12-acre field from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
At 1 p.m., enjoy birthday cake with him in the Vaughan Lobby (while supplies last).
From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., create your own birthday card for George Washington on the bowling green.
Behind-the-Scenes Mansion Tour
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the first floor of the Mansion while preservation work is ongoing. Experience the architecture of the Mansion as never before and hear from preservation and interpretive staff as you walk through rooms normally closed to the public.
USCIS Naturalization Ceremony
Observe a moving ceremony in which people from across the world become U.S. citizens (ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in the Ford Orientation Center's Smith Theater).
United States Air Force Strings Concert
Listen to a concert by the United States Air Force Strings at 2:30 p.m. in the Smith Auditorium.
Music of the Revolution
Join our resident fifer for a musical demonstration and discussion of fife & drum music, and its importance during the American Revolution at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the bowling green.
Children's Story Time
Visit the Smith Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. for a reading of George Washington’s Birthday: A Mostly True Tale.
Concessions
Throughout the day, enjoy concessions for purchase from Half Crown Bakehouse and the Mount Vernon Inn Food Truck on the 12-acre field.
