JUNE 29 & 30
Start your Independence Day celebration with a bang! Enjoy a patriotic evening filled with dazzling fireworks, Mansion tours, musical performances, and games on George Washington’s beloved estate! Greet General and Mrs. Washington in the historic area before trying your hand at bocce ball. Dust off your dancing shoes for 18th-century dancing demonstrations. Mount Vernon’s colonial artisans will reveal how 18th-century ice cream was made in the days before freezers. Independence Fireworks takes place rain or shine. A separate ticket is required for this special evening event, and does not include daytime admission. There is a $3 transaction fee in addition to ticket price.
The free event takes place on Monday, July 2 at Prince George's Stadium. The concert by the legendary band,The Fabulous Hubcaps, begins at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks are expected to shoot off at around 9:15 p.m.. The fireworks show will include an exciting array of pyrotechnics that will be visible beyond the stadium. The parking lot opens at 5 p.m. and stadium gates open at 6 p.m.
Featuring entertainment, cannon salute during the 1812 Overture, food and beverage sales, and grand Finale fireworks at 9:30. Come celebrate at the biggest party in the City! Out of safety and courtesy, leave your tents, umbrellas and grills at home.
