Fairfax HisTree Day | Kids Out and About DMV

Fairfax HisTree Day

Celebrate history and our planet! This city event combines living history presenters with Earth Day through interactive activates, crafts, presentations, tours, and more!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

There's so much to do and explore at HisTree Day! Meet an early 19th-century scientist and ogle at his preserved specimens or learn how today’s stormwater management technology helps protect our planet. You can even take a guided tour of the Blenheim property or check out the interactive Enviroscape to see what it reveals about our earth. There are tons ways to get some hands one experience too by making your own Earth Day themed quilt square, blowing sustainable bubbles, Earth Day Cookie Decorating, and more!

More awaits all visitors, including demonstrations of various tradespeople, such as the blacksmith, a weaver, and a photographer. Be sure to bring a big smile! Also, do you know how Civil War soldiers drilled with a band?! HisTree Day is the place to watch and learn!

Don't forget to stop by the Petting Zoo and grab some delicious food before heading out too!
