Activities at Camp Overlook are designed to be engaging, challenging, educational, and fun! We highly value and encourage inclusion of all campers in all activities. Engaging activities include stream hikes, aquatic studies, live animal care , swimming, storytelling, campfires and s’mores, habitat restoration projects, canoeing, skit presentations, solar oven snacks, scavenger hunts, soil painting, nature crafts, and much more!
Junior Naturalist, Explorers, Adventure, and Rangers camp all include field trips to other parks. Junior naturalists have one field trip day during the camp week. We spend half of their field trip day visiting a local stream for a water quality assessment and stream exploration, the other half is spend at one of NOVA Parks’ local waterparks for an afternoon of swimming fun! Explorers take three field trips that include a canoe trip, a waterpark visit, and a day hike. Adventure camp will take a field trip every day! Puddle Jumpers Camp and Nocturnal Naturalist Camp do not include offsite field trips. End of Camp Potluck! Each session of camp wraps up with a potluck party where camper families are invited to meet the staff and learn a little about what their campers have been up to for the week. More information will be provided once your child is registered.

Rangers Camp (13-15 year olds)

Leader-in-Training (LIT) Volunteer Program
We have four LIT slots per session of camp. LIT's must be at least 15 years old. Click below to apply! Applications and inquires to staff must be made by the LIT Applicant, not the parent. Once your application is received, camp staff will schedule an interview with the applicant. All accepted applicants must attend one of our LIT training session on Saturday June 16th at 12:00pm.
