Break Camp: Hopper Heroes

It's Hopper Hero time at GDS! Our intrepid young heroes-in-training will participate in a variety of activities including Alter-ego Art, Superhero Science, Comic Creations, Dynamic Drama, Spectacular Sports, and Stupendous Service over the course of the week. As the heroes-in-training go through the week, they will consider both how to be heroes in real life and heroes in their imagination. Each day will have a hero-related theme with both small and large group activities related to the themes. These include: Monday: Heroes Have Super-Powers Tuesday: Heroes Problem-Solve Wednesday: Heroes Innovate Thursday: Heroes Work Together Friday: Heroes Help Others Activities by class might include: Alter-ego Art: crafts such as masks, capes, superhero sidekicks, etc. Superhero Science: explorations of chemical interactions, magnets, weather, etc. Comic Creations: a daily comic book read to campers as well as the opportunity for students to illustrate their own comic book Dynamic Drama: activities helping campers think about how to act like a super-hero, whether fictional or real-world Spectacular Sports: sports that simulate fictional superhero skills such as leaping, flying, and climbing Stupendous Service: a daily service activity Campers are invited to come dressed in superhero costumes each day.
