Yoga Trapeze classes incorporate traditional yoga asana, breathwork, and relaxation but is based around our YogaBody-style yoga trapeze rigs. Practicing on the suspension rigs allow us to build core strength, functional upper body strength, and balance while we explore postures in different relationships to gravity and cultivate mindfulness and relaxation.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Suspending upside-down is inherently fun for most children (and adults who are still children at heart).  Students are often attracted to the Yoga Trapeze because they want to do “tricks.”  But the benefits are many:

  • vestibular sensory input
  • body awareness
  • functional pulling and grip strength
  • core strength and awarenes

A yoga practice or exercise routine that integrates The Yoga Trapeze, even if just once or twice per week, includes pushing, pulling, holding, twists, backbends, forward bends, hip opening and so much more. This variety of movement compliments a mat-based yoga practice to create a full-body fitness routine.

As young children become tweens and teens, the lack of pulling, pushing, and core work in a typical school day creates weakness that limits athletic performance and health. Yoga trapeze practice builds strength and fitness and can also enhance confidence, support risk-taking and decision-making skills, and reduce stress.

A huge number of adult yoga students suffer from discomfort or stiffness in the back, neck, or shoulders. Yoga Trapeze inversions counteract gravity, creating space and length in the spine though simple, gentle, bodyweight traction. Trapeze work also includes functional pulling and grip strength often missing in a mat-based yoga practice to create a full-body fitness routine.

Classes are offered in sessions for Kids, Preteens/Teens, and Adults.
