Interactive Summer Camp - Theater Camp - Kids learn theater skills, make friends, increase confidence, and have fun. Includes weekly themes - Welcome to Theater, Create a Play, Fairytales on Stage, Improvisation, Play Production, and more. Taught by accredited teachers (theater pros) and held in Maryland Hall, just minutes from downtown Annapolis. Take your kids to camp while you enjoy a day by the water in Annapolis, shop, eat, visit, or work while your kids enjoy theater and friends.

COMPASS ROSE THEATER SUMMER CAMPS 2023 Compass Rose Theater has the honor of having our summer camps hosted by The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts this summer. This affords us access to its wonderful facilities to bring our students professional theater training in a safe environment. Classes are taught by accredited teachers with a B. A or Master's degree in theatre, have teaching experience and work in the professional theater world. Summer camps are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. Children are invited to attend as many week-long summer camp programs as they like! We welcome you to the Best Summer Camp for Theatre in Maryland! Camp weeks include: Create a Play | Theater Bootcamp | Fairytales Onstage | Improvisation | Play Production | Welcome to Theater Camps are great for elementary, and middle school ages, tweens, and teens Space is limited, register today! Create A Play For Elementary Ages - Young actors wear many theatrical hats: playwright, collaborator, actor, and designer, developing original plays, creating dynamic characters, and performing their final product. Students can attend both weeks as new plays are created during each session. June 19 - 23, 2023 July 24 - 28, 2023 August 11 - 15, 2023 Theater Bootcamp An intensive designed to provide middle schoolers with a solid foundation for the young performer, beginners, and those with some onstage experience. June 26 - 30, 2023 Fairytales Onstage This class offers elementary-aged young actors the opportunity to join an ensemble of actors working together to dramatize classic and contemporary fantasy stories on stage. The week culminates with a final sharing of highlights and stories for family and friends. July 10 - July 14, 2023 Welcome to Theater Students will explore character creation and storytelling, which is at the heart of acting on the stage. They will experience a wide variety of activities focused on basic theater concepts such as ensemble, actor's tools, sharing the stage, dialogue, and action. July 17 - July 21 Improvisation Teens and tweens will learn improvisation is a fun team sport! Students will discover newfound confidence and appreciation for the fearless actor. July 31 - August 4, 2023 Play Production Students will follow the theatrical process from beginning to end. Within the context of a published play, students will audition for roles, memorize lines, learn stage movement, create dynamic characters, and finally perform for a live audience onstage. As in any full production, it will be complete with costumes, props, and a set. This is a great opportunity for Compass Rose Theater students to utilize their learned skills in a production.
