Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2025
In 2025, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival will take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., July 2–7, with the program Youth and the Future of Culture. Since 1967, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival has welcomed participants and visitors from across the United States and around the world to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Our events are always free of charge.

Our Festival takes place every summer on the National Mall, with free performances, workshops, demonstrations, and other activities. It is an educational, research-based presentation that features master artisans and other tradition bearers. We invite visitors to sing and dance along, try crafts and games, learn traditional recipes, ask questions, and take part in this unique cultural exchange.
