This summer, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival returns to the National Mall! Join us in Washington, D.C., June 29–July 4 and June 6–July 6. Our free Festival takes place for two weeks every summer on the National Mall, overlapping the Fourth of July holiday. It is an educational, research-based presentation that features master artisans and other tradition bearers. As always, you can expect music and dance performances, craft workshops, kitchen demonstrations, hands-on family activities, and much more—all free and open to the public.
